What is this..?
Why, it’ a knitted banana cosy!
Yes, indeed. A knitted banana cosy. A knitted cosy for a banana. A cosy for a banana, knitted.
For this banana.
This banana was in my bag yesterday, all day. It didn’t get eaten, as you can see, a lot of chocolate did, but that’s beside the point. The point is, the banana is still in one piece, thanks to the cosy.
It’s a bit brown, but it didn’t get pierced on a pen or something. And if it had, the cosy would have protected my bag.
Anyway, brown bananas are the best! The best I tell you.
I declare this experiment a success!
Very nice banana cozy.
ReplyDeleteI think, many people like your knitted handworks. I like much.

ReplyDeleteI would l
ReplyDeleteove to make this for a friend but wasn't able to find the pattern.
I don't have a pattern here, since I just sort of winged it. But I think you'd probably find a similar pattern from google.
ReplyDeleteHere's a (very) short description of what i did:
I started the cozy from the tip, I cast eight(?) stitces and knit a few rounds with brown, then changed to yellow and did few rounds with increases every now and then until it fit around an average banana. Then I just knit around until I thought it was long enough. I then switched back to brown and did *knit one, purl one* for some rounds and finished off.
Very vague, I know, but I hope it helps a bit :)
On the contrary! If the banana does get squishy, the cozy protects your bag (or what ever) from it and you can just throw the cozy in to the washing machine. Easy peasy!
