Cloth Napkins- Third Take

I’ve written about cloth napkins here and here. I liked the colourful ones – in theory. However, I'm not a very colourful person. That’s just not me. I like things simple and practical and minimalistic. This is a bit of a problem because I also like to craft. That’s why all my lovely amigurumi is stored away in the closet. Any ideas on how to display them tastefully?

Anyway, onto the napkins. I like black and white and grey, as colours go, but white gets dirty so quickly and black can be a bit depressing. So, I bought a plain grey sheet. And made 34 cloth napkins. Thirty-four.

I’m not going to run out anytime soon.

There are a couple of white ones there and they are already a bit stained, lesson learned, and a few black ones for pizza nights.

This is not all of them, some are in the wash. They are pretty unceremoniously piled on the shelf, but it’s practical and easy. Just the way I like it.

Second-Hand Finds 1

Today I was supposed to be writing my thesis (I’m a grad student), so I went to the the flea market instead. Oh, logic.
Here’s what I found.
An awesome metal sewing-box. My old one was ugly and unpractical and didn’t close properly anymore.
Two glass bottles. For some reason, one was 1,50 and the other 3 euros, even though they are both the same brand and from the same table. Oh, well, I wanted both. I’m going to use them for my vanilla essence, which currently is in a very ugly plastic vodka bottle.
A china cup that looks like a crumpled plastic cup, I thought it was funny. And 30 cents.
A leather bag. I liked the corner decals.
I think this is a some sort of wall hanging, or maybe a table runner. But for me it’s going to be a bag! If my camera hadn’t killed it, you could see it’s actually green.
There. Now some thesis.
